One search box for the whole platform. Rather than remembering which part of
ARTup holds which kind of thing, you type what you are looking for in the bar at
the top of the screen and the platform works out where it lives.
Everyone. Collectors looking for an artist, artists looking for a venue,
galleries checking who showed alongside whom, anyone who half remembers a name.
Search everything at once. Artists and their profiles, individual works,
exhibitions, writing published on the platform, and things offered for sale, all
from the same box.
See results sorted by kind. Rather than one undifferentiated list, results
are grouped, so you can tell at a glance whether the match you want is a person,
a work or an event, and go straight to it.
Get the more relevant things first. Ordering takes account of how connected
something is within the ecosystem and how much attention it is drawing, not just
whether the words happen to match.
See only what you are entitled to see. Search does not become a way around
privacy. Anything you could not view by navigating to it will not surface here
either.
Find things that have just appeared. New material becomes findable shortly
after it is added, rather than waiting for a periodic rebuild.
The platform stops being a set of separate places you have to know your way
around, and becomes something you can simply ask.
