The Suite is the frame that will hold everything else together. Rather than a
set of separate apps you sign in to one at a time, ARTup will give you a single
environment: you sign in once, and the individual apps open inside it.
The frame itself is being built and is being rolled out step by step on the
test environment. Until it is in place, each ARTup app opens on its own and
asks you to sign in with your ARTup account.
One sign-in for every app. Inside the Suite you log in once, with your
ARTup account, and every app opens already signed in: you are not asked again
as you move from one to another. Leaving works the same way. When you log out,
you are logged out of all the apps together, and any other window or tab you
have open on ARTup is signed out as well and returns to the login screen.
Everyone with an ARTup account. It is not something you choose to use; it is
where you will find everything else.
Planned: moving between apps without leaving. A launcher that lets you
switch from your artist profile to your works, to what you have bought, and
back, staying signed in throughout.
Planned: keeping the essentials always in reach. A bar at the top of the
screen wherever you are, with your account, your notifications, and a search box
that looks across the whole platform.
Planned: asking the assistant from anywhere. A button that follows you
between apps so you can put a question to BART without losing your place,
whether you are looking at an artwork, working on your profile, or partway
through a purchase.
Planned: a consistent platform. Inside the Suite the apps share one look,
one navigation, and one set of rules about what you are allowed to see. How the
frame and the apps fit together technically is described in the developer
documentation, in Front-End Physical Architecture
and Code Repository and Architecture Guide.
Less friction. Your identity, your notifications, and your search will follow
you across the platform instead of stopping at the edge of each app. Newer apps
join the same frame as they arrive, so the place you know does not change under
you.
